What is the meaning and origin of the Russian surname "Abuhoff"?

    "The Abuhoff name appears to originate in Morocco in the fifteenth century and reappears in Sephardic Spain during the sixteenth century, where Rabii Yitzhak Abuhav wrote a book, called "Menoras Hamoar" or in English "The Holder of Light".
