How do you feel about parents that smoke in the car while thier children are present?

I think it's a terrible idea to smoke around children. Personally, I'm a non-smoker, but I think that if people choose to smoke, fine, but they should allow their children to have the option of being non-smokers instead of subjecting their little lungs to second-hand smoke. Also, big smokers help create little smokers; their children will be WAY more likely to smoke because they do.

I think that they should not smoke in the car with kids present. Kids don't have the choice to get out of the car if they don't like it. You are forcing them to be exposed to second hand smoke. My parents used to smoke with the windows up and I hated it. They were more concerned with air conditioning or heating the outdoors than they were of us it seemed.

the same as I feel about parents who use a fireplace or woodstove in a house with children which is even more damaging to their respiratory health then second hand smoke is.

Its Just wrong,their kids are inhaling all the smoke.

Nah. I say tis only because I was and am the child of a parent that smokes in the car and pretty much everwhere else regardless of whether or not I'm around. I don't mind it really. Of course, I may mind later in life, when cancer is corroding my respiratory system, but I still got a few good years, right?

I can't feel anything for the parent's besides anger. While they smoke their ciggarrete their children are inhaling the smoke also. Its terrible.

I think that really selfish. Absolutely sick to make your kid inhale your smoke.

My mom was sick her ENTIRE life because her mom smoked. She thought it was normal. When she moved out, her lungs (bronchitis) and sinuses cleared up and for the first time, she realized what it was like to feel normal. That's all I have to say.

I think it's bad for parents to smoke at all but in a car is especially cruel.

i think that is really screwed up for them to do. if they want to hurt themselves, that is their choice, but they shouldn't subject their kids to 2nd hand smoke!

i hope the children puke all over the new car. and if its not a new car, something else like their legs or something.

Angry. Sometimes in life people who have children, shouldn't. And sometimes in life people who should, don't. It makes me really sad.

Uh, if you roll down the windows then what's the problem? It's no worse than some of the smog you find in a crowded city, and no worse than the EXHAUST FUMES from the very car that you're riding in!

irresponsible. Those children will be destined to a life of inhalers and pulmonary problems.

i guess to each their own, i dont have a problem with it personally, my parents did it when i was younger, and all it did was make me not smoke, i am not asmatic, not sick in any way, but it did smell, and when they coughed or whatever it was not something i wanted to do, so i dont smoke now because they did it then
