  • Ya, cause now I have to go to the store and buy some other stamps to make up for the extra 2 cents.
  • The question is - fair to whom? The individual will only pay about 20 cents more per month. You'll never miss it. Businesses may pay a lot more because they mail a lot more. The Postal Service needs it - have you seen the gas prices? They pay the same $3 per gallon that you do and drive many miles every day. Healthcare costs are up as are other expenses. Gas prices go up 10-15 cents per month, stamp prices 2 cents per year or more. Seems fair to me, but then I work for the Postal Service. The most important thing about this rate increase is that size matters. The smaller you can make your mail the better you will do. Fold your letter up and put it in a envelope instead of not folding it and putting it in a big envelope and you can save 39 cents per letter. A regular letter is 41 for one ounce, 58 for two ounces (down 5 cents!), a big envelope is 80 cents for one ounce and 97 for two ounces (up 34 cents).
  • yes....it's our own fault.less people mailing letters means less stamp revenue to cover basic expenses.get rid of the email, and we shall have cheaper stamps increases, my friend. however, there will always be increases.until the cost of living decreases.so it'l aways fair. i can afford it. can you?!
