  • First things first - STOP WITH THE CAPS. Man does it every annoy me. I will answer your question whether or not the caps are used. You don't need to attract more attention. That 'clicking' noise that occurs when you turn the key means that the starter is not getting enough juice to turn the crankshaft. This sounds is almost always associated with a dead battery. It may be new but it is probably defective. Have a load test done on the battery. I am willing to be money it can't hold a charge. Oh ya - stop with the caps! Hope this helps, Good luck
  • The ignition is where you put the key in....*sigh*
  • ignition switch is on stering collem but your problem may be the alternator
  • http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44971. shows you where ignition switch is, and how to change it. are your symptoms when you turn the key nothing happen, but light and windscreen wipers and radio works, the engine refues to turnover, no crunking noise, but give it a few attemps will start. this problem will eventually get worse and the car will not start at all.
