  • I think the question is clear enough, however, maybe a friendly suggestion to avoid abbreviating words like straight and truck. Some people will not be able to understand what you mean. Now, as far as what the going rate is, I assume you mean what an owner/operator would charge for the services of himself and the truck. The answer to that question will vary depending on the type of freight, the type of operation, and other variables. Running "hotshot" long haul loads will probably command a much higher rate than local delivery. If you are talking about moving household goods, that's a whole 'nother ball game. The best thing to do is look for area companies that do similar work and call them. Really, that's the best way to get the answer you're looking for because there are so many variables. Remember, however, if you are planning to run a truck, you will need to account for your own costs before you set a price. If you don't know how much it costs to run the truck, you will have no idea if your turning a profit.
