They think it's fashionable to pay $80-$90 at Abercombie and Fitch for jeans they could make themselves,and would look better!

some poeple look to hop on to the band wagon, therefore they would go to great lengths to fit in... or the pants look very fashionable XD

Because they are the new fashion. Personally if I want jeans with holes, I'd go out and buy jeans with no holes for $30 less, and make holes in them myself to raise the value of the jean. :)

Some designer got caught with a time crunch and a creative block. They had to come up with something quickly so they took an old pair of jeans, put a few holes in and then gave them to the boss. The boss said what the hell??? A marketing person said, well if this what we have we'll market to the kids and teens with the thought - if we tell the teens that they are a hot item then they will believe and buy. The rest is history.
