  • Just don't look and don't think about it and you'll barely feel it.
  • Dont worry about it, you will hardly feel it :-) If you are really nervous have a word with the doc, he will put your mind at rest.
  • If you are going to worry about this (which you are) then decide that you will do all your worrying on the morning of the injection and not before (it can be done). Remind yourself that worry is pretty much useless and however much you do, it will not have any effect on the end result. You are worried because you do not know what to expect and if it will hurt. Most injections do not - I just had a hayfever jab and did not feel anything at all. On the day: it's difficult by you must try not to tense up. Eg, if the injection is to be done in your riht arm, then make your right arm as relaxed as you can - the rest of your body can be as tense as you like. If you tense up it makes it harder to perform the injection. On the upside, it will last only moments and you do not have to watch while it is done. If it helps, wear your i-pod (or similar) and have it turned up really loud - it will take your mind off of it. Good luck.
  • It helped my children a whole lot to turn their heads and not look at the time of the injection. Then there's this tiny prick and it's over before you know it. I always look away myself, and it really helps.
  • It just takes practice to get used to the needle. You know it's just a prick but you get worried about it all the same. You just have to experience it enough times for your senses to learn it's really nothing. As an adult I will donate blood casually and that's the biggest needle. I no longer flinch as it goes into my arm, but I sure used to.
