I expect to get downrated for this....Because it is the most controversial religion out there...not enough supporting fact and a heap of lies...

I think it is because people are curious. most people think of mormonism as a tiny little religion out in utah. In truth mormoninsm is the third largest sect of christianity. There are over 12 million mormons in the world and it is the fastest growing christian religion in the world. Mormons have never hidden our beliefs - there have just not always been enough of us to answer all the questions - and many of us have testimonies but don't necessarily know everything there is to know about everything - so we fear answering questions and accidentally saying something which isnt true - we arent trying to hide it we just don't want to mislead anyone accidentally. As the church grows more and more mormonism is coming out of abscurity. mormon politicians are generally known for their upstanding values and morals in an immoral profession. those who live around mormons see them as happy productive families with strong homes and good (not perfect:) kids. and so people get curious and want to know more - not necessarily because they want to be mormon - but just to know - we welcome all seekers of knowledge whether they are interested in joining us in our beliefs or not.

This is a purely subjective answer but it's MY answer. I'm sure that others will have equally valid answers to this superb question. It's because, to me, Mormonism is the most interesting of the Christian sects with Catholicism (both Roman and Anglo) running a distance second. If I had to pick one I'd probably put Seventh Day Adventistism after that. And, simply put, that is why I love being a Mormon Studies Scholar - Mormonism is fascinating and never gets boring!

i only know what i read on AB..but most is quite shocking to the Believers of The Truth....and people love to be shaocked and awed....Catholicism is OLD, shock is gone....JW's are next....do u know of any that is quiet and mind their own business doing the Lord's work, helping the poor,unfortunate, and fatherless boys,and won't condemn u and gently welcome u always willingly to talk to u about Jesus and God? practice as close to New Testament as is known? drama, lots gravitate to it...scandal,heresy...is all i can reason..:)justme
