  • Well, to get your metabolism in gear, instead of eating 3 huge meals a day, eat about 200-300 calories about every 2 hours. This will convince your body that there's no reason to store fat, because something is always coming. Cut out all of the junk food (but remember that it's okay to eat something "bad" once in a while, otherwise you'll freak out and eat too much of what you want. Letting yourself have a LITTLE break will do you good.) Drink as much water as feels good, and do it all day. Also, try to eat a well balanced diet. Don't just try and cut out only one thing, instead eat balanced, healthy foods, especially fruits, nuts, beef jerkey is good if you are a meat eater, and don't forget also, that muscle takes more calories to build so the more muscle you have the easier time you will have losing weight. Good luck to you, stay on it, and enjoy!
  • In addition to exercise and healthy eating, another one of the major factors in your weight is stress. It's a LOT more difficult to reach that ideal weight if you're stressed out. Spend at least a half hour each day doing something relaxing that you enjoy, as well as practicing stress-blocking techniques throughout the day. Another thing that really helps is keeping a health journal.
  • Try metabolism boosters. You can get them at walmart to give it a boost.

  • get the after 6 diet :P do not eat when the clock strike 6 pm
  • Reduce your daily intake of calories to create a deficit (you really need to burn about 3x as many calories as you eat to lose several pounds per week). I've just recently started low-carbing for weight loss, and so far it's going really well. I feel more energy, so I'm able to exercise more and I'm not as hungry because I get to eat lots of high-fat, really satisfying foods that keep you full for longer than sugar or carbs do. Check out this site where you can log everything you eat, along with all your daily activities to see how many calories you're burning in relation to how many you're eating. It also breaks down your nutrients, so you can see if you're not getting enough vitamins from your food. I even put my vitamin supplement under "custom foods", so it will tally that in with my nutrient intake! www.fitday.com
  • Also, start drinking tons of water - this really helps!
  • I agree kick up your metabolic rate early in the morning.
  • Eat small meals throughout the day. Eat a lot of fish and veggies. Get plenty of sleep! Sleep sleep sleep. Exercise. Drink water. Lots of water. Cut out sugary drinks all-together.
  • I myself add Vineager to the things I eat and worked big time -- 80 pounds MINUS
  • I like every answer posted so far. People have been giving very good suggestions except one important thing I like to point out is, don't stress over losing so much weight in a short period of time. The main reason for that is, sometimes when you focus so much in losing weight, you forgot to eat healthy, meaning you could be losing water or muscle and not fat. I would take it slowly but progress correctly at all times. When you rush or feel pressured to lose weight fast, you'll be easily tempted to take a diet pill, or follow a "cheat" plan that only works good short term. As always, consult your physician before starting any type of diet plans cause they will know whether it is right for you or not. I hope that helps!
  • I am on the green tea diet. I is really good and not hard just watch what you eat and take EGCG it is found in green tea of you can buy it alone. I is a natural matabolism booster and shows to have no side effects I have done really good. I replaced all my soda with green tea also.
  • - limit your daily calories intake - 8 cups of water a day - at least 8 hours of sleep per night - Don't Stress (the more you stress the longer it takes) - don't eat late - substitute your regular food with healthier foods (ie if u eat white wheat bread, start eatting whole wheat instead) - include excercise to your daily movements (ie: instead of driving to the store, try walking or take the stairs instead of elevators to your work) and my personal favourite is Yoga. relaxes your mind and makes you determine to focus on your goal.
  • Drink up to a 1- 1.5 litres of water per day & also try not to make your portions too small(this is the worst thing to do when people often diet as this makes the body feel it needs more of an intake), never skip breakfast as you are more likely to snack throughout the day, have wholemeal toast/stable cereal which containtains wholegrains(which are good for the heart) try having a light yoghurt/fruit for lunch, a well balanced meal in the evning but try to avoid snacking after 6-7pm as the body's metabolisim slows down for the evning around such times, if you stick to this healthy eating routine & maintain regular excercise(atleast an hour of walking/running/swimming/cycling) per day then the weight should drop in no time at all, but if all else fails ther'e always laxatives, but this can lead to the body losing precious nutrients & minerals, causing weakness
  • healthy tips: 1. lots of water. limit or, better, cut out soda. even diet soda. it dehydrates you, which isn't good. 2. green tea. it works. if you can't stand the taste, get the capsules. ***pure green tea capsules only. don't get the kind that have other nasty stimulants and unhealthy stuff added in. those aren't healthy.*** 3. fidget. tap your fingers and toes. it will keep your metabolism a little bit more revved throughout the day, believe it or not. 4. spicy food, if you like it. not a ridiculous amount, but chilies DO boost your metabolism. 5. limit caffeine and other stimulants. they artificially boost your metabolism for a short while, but in the long run, they actually SUPPRESS it. 6. eat several small meals a day instead of three large ones. 7. eat breakfast. and when you do, try to avoid having too many carbs. opt for some fruit and maybe scrambled eggs instead of toast. simple carbs will spike your blood sugar and you'll crash around mid-afternoon. natural sugars and protein are much better for you in the morning and you won't crash later. 8. set aside at least an hour a day to just sit and relax. as someone else mentioned, stress causes weight gain. 9. do not limit your caloric intake too much. women should not eat less than 1200 calories a day; men less than 1500. (usually. your doctor may suggest something different.) too low, and your body will go into shock- hang onto every bit of fat you consume. 10. last but not least- indulge every so often. if you have a day here and there where your caloric intake is higher, it will not only help your metabolism stay where it should be, but it will make things easier for you psychologically too. go ahead and have the ice cream once in a while! if you tell yourself "no, not until i lose XX lbs," subconsciously you'll crave it even more. hope this helped! good luck!
