  • When your child is 18 years old.
  • When the child is old enough to support him/herself. 18 is the most common.
  • It depends on your agreement. Here in the state of Florida, it is 18 uless they are a full time student then it's until the age of 21.
  • 18 if you don't owe back child support...
  • Its 18 or until the child graduates high school (my dad owes my mom money until I graduate high school.) So i guess it depends.
  • 18 years old
  • unfortunately it's 21 if the child is still in school...I’m so disappointed in the system as not all dad's are dead beat...my husband never missed a payment to his ex and he’s been paying for the last 12 years...doesn’t get so see his kids because the mother keep them away with the reason that "your father is stupid doesn’t do anything for you so you don’t have to see him" now you tell me is that right?? The man now is tired and has the opportunity to be a stay at home husband but do you think he can do that...of course not. When you have a conniving bitch for an ex and she doesn’t let you have contact with them how do you know if your kids still live there??? How do you know if the children are still in school…especially when there 20, 18, and so on I’m so fn mad at the system you have no ideal.....i strongly wish someone could do something about all of this.
  • Assuming you are in the United States, it heavily depends on the state. In some states, obligation to support your child stops when the kid turns 18, in some states it is the later of turning 18 or graduating high school. Mass., for instance, it's 18 unless the child is full time enrolled in college, in which case it is until the earliest of receipt of undergraduate degree or turning 23. Some states - 21. Like I said - heavily depends on the state. By the way, if any or all parties, including kids, ever move from the state where the child support order was issued, that state's law continues to control the duration of the child support obligation no matter where the parties end up. So, if you are ordered to pay child support in FL (where cs is cut off at 18), and then the custodial parent and kids go to live in Mass, where kids go to college (where cs is until 23 if the kids are college), assuming they are not running from the abusive non-custodial parent, the child support will be cut off at 18.
  • Here in New Zealand, chid support is payable until the child's 19th birthday, unless that child has become financially independent i.e. working to support themselves.
  • To the lady who says that her husband does not see his kids she needs to take this to the court. I myself had to take my daughter's father to the courts cause he would not let me see my daughter. The courts will award him visitation rights and the mother can't do anything about it. She can even go to jail for not letting him see the kids. He can find out how to locate the kids from the child support office and place it all in the hands of the law. Judges hate things like this. He can then work out an arrangement for him to see the kids.
  • Untill the child stops going school. Which is normally between 16 - 18
  • When your child no longer needs financial support...... that'd be when it's an adult. A kids for life you know, not just for Christmas!
