Saturday I was walking down the street (in jeans and a polo, thank you) and some sub-human piece of garbage passed me and said "Man I'd like to f*ck those t*tties!" I wheeled around and hit him in the crotch with my backpack. I need a better response than that because in this city sh*t like that happens ALL THE TIME and while I think my response was appropriate for the level of disgust and fear this slime created in me, I need something that will not get me landed in jail on assault charges. For those of you who are thinking of responding "just ignore them." SPARE ME. I will NOT be made to feel like even more of a victim by pretending it didn't happen and further impowering the person who assaulted me. Often times I take their picture and put it on http://hollabacknyc.blogspot.com/ which is a place where victims of street haraassment post pictures and stories about their experience. If you haven't seen it, please check it out. Some of my experiences are posted there. But sometimes I don't have the chance to take their photos with my camera phone. Guys, please understand that if you pass a woman on the street and say something about her body or desirability you may think you're paying her a compliment but what she feels is degraded and afraid. Please save those comments for people who know you and are not afraid you are going to follow them down the street and rape them in a dark alley. Thanks for your answers.
