Because we are....just as people are born black or white or blue-eyed or brown-eyed. It's genetic! And more and more research is concluding that this is true. No one "chooses" to be gay, nor does anything cause us to "turn" gay.

Because that's how it works and there is a great deal of evidence to support it. Where as, there is NO such evidence to suggest any other reason.

its just something you can feel like a pull towards your sexuality. Did you see that commercial about that 7 or 8 yr old boy who was killed for cross-dressing. That was pretty sad, and he was a kid. harsh world out there. ppl can be born gay, straight, lesbian, bisexual and transexual as well, just as ppl are born left or right handed.

I have no idea why, in my mind people cant be born to have an attraction towards something, it just doesnt make sense. People and society have a huge interest on what people find attractive. Take a look at what was considered attractive in the early 1900's and what is considered attractive now. I dont think that these differences are due to genetics, it is just by choice. It is hard to understand it when people say they are born gay, I feel it is a choice.

I was born straight. I can't make myself feel the desire to kiss another woman. I can't imagine what it's like to have the desire to kiss someone of the same sex. I don't like how homosexuals get treated in society... not "everyone" is homophobic but there is so much ignorance. :( I have loads of friends who have told me that they wish and wish that they were straight. I think that you have to see it from their point of view to understand.

Because some sympathetic physician somewhere provided them the excuse they needed to not be held socially responsable for their own personal choices reguardless what impulse drives them to their desired ends. From what I've observed and the people that I know are gay, they have known they were "different" since they little. So yeah, I really think that it is genetic in some way. Because gay people ARE born gay. It can be assumed that given that being gay is a very socially inconvenient and at times dangerous lifestyle, it would follow that if people had any control over it whatsoever, they would more than likely decide NOT to be gay. The only logical explanation for their inability and unwillingness to do this is a biologically driven inclination.

For the same reason that they believe they were born liking the color blue (or green or yellow). For the same reason they were born as a coke or pepsi person. Same reason they were born liking the Buffalo Bills or Miami Dolphins. It has nothing whatsoever to do with personal experiences like acceptance/rejection as a child or young adult. Because they know who they are and where they come from. They know what they felt as a child and how they grow into their self-identity over the years, including sexual orientation. They did not plan to adapt any particular label, nor would they hope for this given the stigmas and stereotypes attached. Nobody would choose the hardship and the difficulty for the sake of embracing some whim. I truly believe that we are who we are, and all we can do is embrace the person we become. I do not know but I think it is by choice..Let me explain...Got two neighbors proclaiming to be lesbians but their love was fueled by their admitted hate for men. Both have children......A niece who lived in New Mexico and recently moved to SF with her parents and all of a sudden she is a lesbian. Know a male who just couldn't get up the nerve to ask women out and was very shy...he decided men were for him! Good grief I can go on and on about people I have met who say they are gay and IT IS ALL BY CHOICE!!!!!!!

because people are born gay. I have seen it, I have had friends that everyone knew was gay before they did. I have had friends that had children and one of the children had always been effeminant (not that all gay men are effeminant) and they grew up and declared themslves to be officially gay. Though there is a large fauxmosexual trend out there I think truly gay men and women are born that way, maybe they suppress it for years because of society or upbringing, maybe they do not even realize it fully until later in life, but I do not believe ALL gay people are born straight and consciously decide to be gay

Because it's eaier to relinquish responsibility for who you are. Blame whoever and whatever you can. Life is a choice...period. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to the happenings. It's simpler to say "It was out of my hands".

I think its a difference that helps people move on, like they found their calling. Some people will feel they are always attracted to certain things and that is just so. I think certain people are genetically more likely to be homosexual. I think environments and certain circumstances dictate as well as influences. Just the same as some people are influenced, genetically more likely to be straight. There are various grey area's and no fixed defining line, but some are clearer than others vice versa. Anyway I like diversity and I think anyone can choose what they want. We are unique, just like everyone else.

Because they've convinced themselves that having sex with someone of the same gender is out of their control. I'll submit that genetics may have a very small influence and may make one more prone to homosexuality than others, but in the long run, it boils down to the individual and how they react to environmental influences...

Why do Homosexuals think they are born gay? The truth is that NO ONE is born gay. Sin is in the world today because Adam was stupid and decided to eat of the tree of good and evil therefore bringing sin and death into the world. We are all born into sin until we find forgiveness. Rejection, lack of a male figure, rape, mental abuse, all of these things will open the door to homosexuality to enter into your life. There is deliverance for the Homosexual but only by their choice. Its all about choices, never about genetics. God never creates sin, people allow sin.
