I have a KLH R5000 receiver. When I turn it on, it flashes "check speakers" and turns off. How can I fix this?

Check polarity of your speaker wires, ie; positive to positive, negative to negative.
If it continues to do it ofter the polarity is correct, disconnect one speaker and see if it does it when you turn it on. If it does it, you may have a defective speaker, hook the other speaker to the same channel and if it doesn't do it you have a bad speaker. If it does it with both speakers detached then you have an internal amplifier problem.
