Have you read anything by Raymond Chandler? Which of his works would you suggest someone unfamiliar with him to read first?

G'day jt007m, Thank you for your question. All of Raymond Chandler's novels feature Philip Marlowe a classical detective character. The Big Sleep, Farewell, My Lovely, and The Long Goodbye are his best works for mine. The Big Sleep was also a classic film noir featuring the combination of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. I have read a number of his shor stories as well as "The Long Goodbye", which is an excellent book. I am currently reading a short novel by Chandler called "The High Window".
