Take two aspirin and soak in a hot tub of water for no more than 20 minutes. This works.

Tylenol, bed rest on your stomach or side, ice, and a nice long soak in warm water with epsome salts.

Use cold. I know you won't like it but....place amn ice pack on the area that hurts for 20 minutes. Wait 20 minutes. Repeat. It will take down the swelling which is probably why it hurts. If it's nerves then you need something more than what you can do at home, unless your S.O. is a massage thereapist, which mine is, so that's a great help. Of it doesn't feel better, try getting a massage or some other bodywork.

First I'd be making sure that the diagnosis is right! If you took a fall or something to get this pain I'd be making sure nothing is cracked or otherwise damaged. Then... Application of ice, then heat (so an ice pack followed by a heat pack). Gentle stretching for that area (lie on your back, pull knees to chest. Lie on your back, one leg straight, lift other one and pull it gently across your body). Walk, but don't run. Swim. Don't ride a pushbike for a while. Basically - keep the area moving but without straining.

I fell off my horse a week ago, my tailbone is still very sore, I seem to have less in motion pain (pain when going from sitting/standing or vice versa etc.), but more constant always there pain. Any one else have this? Is it a sign of getting better or worse? Probably d/n help that I ride several times a week (not riding isnt an option) Any suggestions? I'm going to my dr later today. Went swimming in pretty chilly water yest-felt much better after, then applied moist heat.
