  • I suspect that it can - go to a recruiter, not the one you intend to enlist with, and ask them. They should be able to tell you.
  • I also have a heart murmur and had 2 previous heart surgeries (1 when I was 12 days and 1 when I was a year old) and I'm trying to enlist at the moment. I'm not on any medications for any of my problems so I might have a little more chance there but I've been told that if I want a better chance, to have surgery to correct it and I'm not sure if I'm willing to go that far. But I am also trying to figure out why a heart murmur would disqualify a person, especially if you've never had any issues and/or gone through child birth with no complications, as I have.
  • I've found out some more news. Depending on the MEPS station that you go to, it doesn't matter if you have a heart murmur or not. The one that I am going to realizes that everybody isn't perfect and as long as they haven't had any troubles with it in their life, they should be fine. Like I ran track and played sports throughout high school and college, so I've never had any problems. Hope it goes as good for you!
