I think a band lives or dies by its singer, so I have to say Ian Gillan.
-
Ian! Duh!!!!
-
Got to be Gillan - Wow it's been a while
-
I have to be different and say Blackmore.
-
I think it was Jon Lord.

i dont compare the skill with a singer and ahammond player, so i say nobody in the world play the drums like Paice nobody in the world got the sound as steve morse nobody in the world plays like airy in the world nobody in the world has the sound that glover can get in his bass.

Ritchie Blackmore. He broke off from the band to start a new band, and that's why nobody hears about Deep Purple anymore.

I would have to go with Roger Glover. He produced almost all of Deep Purple meaning that he brought the sound together and was responsible for making it sound the way it does. Just listen to disc #2 on "Machine Head Remastered". He reproduced and reedited the entire album from the original masters and in my opinion soinds WAYYYYYY better than than the original which is disc#1.
