  • What did you do after you dislocated it? You were supposed to immediately, force it back to how it was (OUCH) and try bending it. The nerve might be hurt, but after you dislocated it, you should've bent it several times, even if it hurt. It's better than have a paralyzed finger. 3 weeks is too much time. Go see your doctor. Chance are, the nerve died, and you'll never be able to move or bend the finger. You could also try making a fist, as hard as possible, it'll hurt though.

Do not attempt to put a dislocated bone back into its socket, as this can result in further damage to surrounding tissue or nerves. If possible, splint the finger or thumb in the position found immediately after the injury. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/finger_dislocation/page6_em.htm It is not recommended that you treat a dislocated finger at home. A visit to your doctor or the emergency department is usually necessary. http://www.mdadvice.com/library/sport/sport136.html Use instructions for R.I.C.E., the first letters of REST, ICE, COMPRESSION and ELEVATION. The doctor will manipulate the dislocated finger.
