  • i think that if jesus was a secret teacher then he could stayed alive xx
  • Sure, he could have avoided death. Assuming the biblical accounts are correct, he blasphemed. He could have chosen not to, tried to make his point more clearly or recanted. For whatever reason -- and the one you chose will depend on your faith -- he exerceised his free will to follow thorugh with what he believed his destiny to be.
  • Only way it could have been avoided if the first man (Adam) did not commit the first original sin of disobedience. It’s because of his disobedience, sin entered the world. Romans 5:12 – (KJV) “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” In order to redeem the world back to Him self (God), pure willing sinless sacrifice had to been offered as atonement for sin, hence Jesus’ death on the cross. Jesus was sinless, so death could not hold Him, hence resurrection. In Him (Jesus) we are restored (made righteous) with God again as in the beginning…
  • Yes..he did not have to die. He chose to because it was his intended purpose.
  • Yes. If he would have stopped "teaching".
  • If the Jews would have repented and turned back to the kind of worship that God wanted He may have delayed the timing of Jesus's birth. But ultimately, I think he would have still had to come because we inevitably turn away form God's plan.
  • Yes. He could have stopped teaching and returned to his home and went back to being a carpenter. But then he would have been totally forgotten. Even the people who are remembered from that time in Judea are only remembered because of him.
  • Jesus death could have been avoided by giving in to satan & the religious politcal leaders of his time... If he had Christianity would have been aborted...
  • He did, because he is a myth. There is no historical record of Jesus anywhere. If you dont believe me look it up. The only outside source(ie not the bible) found is a well known forgery in one of josephus's writings.
  • No. Everybody dies, even eccentric prophets.
  • It could have been avoided if Adam and Eve had obeyed God. Once they sinned, God chose His Son to buy back mankind from sin. This was a role that Jesus thus had to fill. Romans Chapter 5 explains Christ’s role this way: (verses 12 to 19) "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned—. For until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not charged against anyone when there is no law. Nevertheless, death ruled as king from Adam down to Moses, even over those who had not sinned after the likeness of the transgression by Adam, who bears a resemblance to him that was to come. But it is not with the gift as it was with the trespass. For if by one man’s trespass many died, the undeserved kindness of God and his free gift with the undeserved kindness by the one man Jesus Christ abounded much more to many. Also, it is not with the free gift as it was with the way things worked through the one [man] that sinned. For the judgment resulted from one trespass in condemnation, but the gift resulted from many trespasses in a declaration of righteousness. For if by the trespass of the one [man] death ruled as king through that one, much more will those who receive the abundance of the undeserved kindness and of the free gift of righteousness rule as kings in life through the one [person], Jesus Christ. So, then, as through one trespass the result to men of all sorts was condemnation, likewise also through one act of justification the result to men of all sorts is a declaring of them righteous for life. For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were constituted sinners, likewise also through the obedience of the one [person] many will be constituted righteous”.
  • Thanks to everyone for participating with this question.
  • Everyone and everything dies. It's God's design; circle of life....
  • There would be no Christians if he did not die and resurrect to the degree there is now. It would have at best become another sect of Judaism and would not have had such a profound international affect that it does now. No Cross No Crucifiction No Resurrection.
  • As non-christian reading it as a story - isn't it the point that Jesus *had* to die in the manner he did?
