Once I decided to make pancakes for my grandparents. I decided to put peppermint extract in them for some reason, and both of them ended up taking out their dentures because they thought the adhesive was leaking! I thought I was in trouble. I also planned a magic show for my mom once, the big surprise came when the crystal lamp under my baby blanket did not dissapear, but crashed to the ground into a million pieces. The next week my little sister broke the matching one as well.

I thought it would be nice to surprise my family during Christmas one year. My dad lugged this immense Christmas tree into the house and I heard them talking about trimming it after dinner. I thought, wouldn't it be nice to surprise them by trimming it myself. So I did. By the time I was done, it was less of a tree and more of a stick. There was some shock, and a little anger, but when I explained that I wanted to surprise them by trimming the tree myself, they couldn't stay angry at me and explained that "trimming" a Christmas tree meant putting the ornaments and lights on it. We went and got a new tree the next day. That was a great Christmas.

Oh yeah, big time. When I was about 6 or 7, my sister and I stayed at my Grandparent's house for a week during summer. Since my Grandma always had this big bowl of candy in the guest room, it was nearly empty by the end of the week. We felt like replacing it was the right thing to do so the next time we went to the store we stuffed our pockets with tons of candy. Yeah, that didn't go too well and we ended up getting punished for stealing. I don't think my Grandma ever figured out that it was for her.

Terrible, terrible memory... I was 5, and one of my sisters was 6, we woke up early one morning to find all these pieces of paper stuck all over the walls of the hall, kitchen, and livingroom. We thought it would be a really nice thing to clean up for mom and spent an hour taking them all down and throwing them away. Later we found out that my father had written every one of the notes for my mom and put them on the walls(they were having problems and later divorced). I am much older (in fact much, much older) and still remember that morning. I never got in trouble or yelled at. But something in the disappointment and hurt in my dad's face has never gone away...

I was around six or seven years old. My uncle was visiting my parents one weekend. When he came downstairs and went into the kitchen to make his breakfast I asked to help. He let me get the eggs out of the refrigerator. After he had scrambled the eggs he put them on a plate and put the plate on the kitchen table. As he prepared his toast with his back toward me; I decided to make his eggs taste really good by putting on black pepper for him. When he came to the table I saw he was surprised and that made me smile. He thanked me for helping him as he got himself a big glass of ice water and ate his eggs. Years later he and I would laugh about the eggs that had entirely too much pepper.

No, but my dad did. When he was little, he wanted to shine my Pop-pop's shoes. So he took out a big bottle of shoe shine and dumped all over the shoe (and the carpet). My grandparents weren't too harsh, though. ;3
