I have a 2 month old kitten and my 4 year old cat hates her. He will hiss at her and when we go to pet him he hisses at me. Why does my cat do this?

    Your 4 year old male is mad because he thinks your replacing him as number 1 in the household, It's best to not shower your new Kitten with affection. Your male will feel insulted because you have brought a new cat in, which to your cat could be possible competition. I had the same problem, let the cat sleep with you at night, then in the morning let him out and let the cats hiss, spit, and growl it all out, (at eachother) until they can solve it. DO NO INTERFERE, it will discoarage a relationship! Once you have him alone or they have a relationship, he will calm down and accept affection.
