Your eyes are circular, so when you rotate them to look anywhere beyond straight ahead they rotate on an axis. the glass lends is more of a shallow dome or even flat. Instead of being an equal distance from your eye all around you are looking through different angles of glass, getting a magnifying or distortion of the glass. This is NORMAL. Most eyeglass wearers once they have adjusted to wearing glasses are not aware of this, and even adapt by turning their head more than just their eyeballs to look dead on to what ever it is they are looking at.
