  • You can only get a green card if you live in the states for 5 years or marry a US citizen. In order to move to the United States you have to get a resident card. You can obtain a resident card by first getting a job in the US. You're on the right track, but you're more likely to get a job with an American firm that will keep you where you are. The problem you have is that you would have to be brought in on a company-sponsored work visa and many companies simply do not want to deal with the hassle. I guess one way to game the system is to come in on a student visa and spend your non-class time trying to get a real job. Then work on converting your student visa to a resident visa based on your US job.
  • It's about as difficult as someone from America trying to live somewhere else. It takes time and effort. Right now, due to the financial disaster in this country, I don't think America is being so generous with non-citizens coming over and getting no piece of the pie.
  • I have to agree that America is not the best place to move right now. With so many americas out of work and so few jobs right now it will be very hard to find a job. I understand that we say we are the land of opportunity However, right now we are not. We have a lot of problems in our government that are not going to go away anytime soon. You may want to rethink moving here. My husband and I have though of moving out but the problem is the same the other direction. I dont want you to think that we are antiAmerican but this place is messed up right now. Crime is very high, no jobs. Cost of education is high. Adults are taking any jobs they can to feed the family. Jobs that were mostly for Teens are now being taken by Adults. I would take a good hard look to see if you realy want this.
  • Good luck to you! There are about 6 million American citizens looking for work in the US right now. If I were you, I'd stay right where you are
