There are no communist countries. Read the Communist Manifesto to see what Communism TRULY is. Those countries are STATE CAPITALIST. Also... there has NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER been a Communist country...ever. Don't listen to what you learned in textbooks! Read up on what true communism is.

As of 2006, there are five Communist states in the world: China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea and Vietnam. Despite a common Communist ideology, they possess certain distinct characteristics, both politically and economically.

As of the date, 01-01-2004, there are 3 communist countries. They are North Korea, China, and Cuba. Communism basically dominished since the fall of the U.S.S.R in 1989.

Factoid #13- Over 90% of the would's nuclear bombs are split between the United States and Russia. Over 9% belong to England, France, and a few other European countries. A thousand others belong to Iraq, Iran, India, China, and Pakistan. Most of these were made during the Cold War.

In the article "Communism" in the International Encyclopedia of the Social and Behavioral Sciences, A. Brown of the University of Oxford wrote that there were at most five communist countries as of 1995: China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea and Vietnam. This appears to be the case today as well.

How about Belarus? It may not call itself Communist, but if you've been there, you know it belongs in the club. In Belarus, it feels like the Soviet Union is still going strong. Minsk is like "Stalin City" and have a good luck at Lukashenko and his policies!
