  • "cheater's cloth"–a fabric printed with an all-over block design, made to look like a pieced or appliqued quilt top. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33408 http://www.reddawn.net/quilt/glossary.htm http://www.quiltbus.com/Quilt-Terms.htm I included so many references because I'd never heard of it myself, si I looked more than one website and they all gave the exact same description.
  • Sometimes people buy a fabric with a "picture" of a quilt, or quilt blocks, printed right on the fabric. This can be used to create a "cheater quilt" by adding batting and backing, and then quilting it. "Quilting" is the act of sewing little designs into the layered pieces. These designs can follow the pattern formed in the blocks, or it can be a very elaborate leaf, scroll, or other pattern. I have some books with 100's of quilting designs in them.
