obviously the ripstick... the wave cannot go down hills well and cannot do as many tricks
-
the wave and the ripstick are almost exactly the same. neither one is better and neither one is worst. they ride exactly the same and you can do as many tricks with both of them

Ripstick has longer bar between blades. It moves more and is not as rigid. We have both and no one ever rides the waveboard I feel like I got ripped off because I came to an internet site and asked the very same question but was told waveboard was better, so I bought it. 1 waveboard and 3 Ripstiks later I learned my lesson. Since then 12 more kids on block got Ripstiks and no one likes the waveboard. Why is it so hard to get an honest answer? I'm a 45 year old Ripstikin' mom with 2 boys....can't fool me. SuzieQ

The Ripstik is better because it weighs a lot less and is also smoother. Pick up both boxes in the store and compare. I bought a Wave and sold it the next day.

if you want a caster board that will do more I suggest the TimberWolf XtreeM. Its lighter, faster and more maneuverable. It can go both ways with its bidirectional rock & roll casters and with its maple deck and fiberglass/UHMW torsion it has more pop and a smoother ride. Its not a toy caster board. It is a true peice of sporting goods equipment. All the parts are available and replacable/upgradable and you can customize its performance with different lifter that range from speed to tricks. Its a great vert or street board.
