  • Soldiers who die in battle, regardless of what they believe, die for the purpose of helping their side win the battle. That seems pretty simple to me. I know this isn't part of the question, but one could argue that soldiers who don't believe in an afterlife are braver to go into battle than those who do believe, simply because, in their minds, they have more to lose.
