  • The DVD version basically just has a lot more software included with it. All of which is included in the Ubuntu repositories anyhow. Its particularly useful to get the DVD version if you intend to install on PCs that don't have internet access. But it is fairly bloated, and you will probably have very litttle (or no) reason to use many of the programs that are included. If you get the CD version, you will have a fully functioning version of Kubuntu, with a small selection of programs. You can easily download any software that doesn't come of the CD from the repositories, however as long as it is installed on a computer that has internet access.
