Within certain limits yes (a 4 y/o will never be as mature as a 40 y/o) but it's not absolute.
-
No I do not believe it does at all . I know many so called ADULTS that are very immature and many young people that I find much more grounded and mature about life in general.
-
I don't think so at all. Age determines age. You are as young or as old as you feel (and act in some cases).
-
Absolutely not!it really shouldn't matter.
-
Oh, no way. I know plenty of very mature people in their teens and twenties, and some nasty older people that really should know better.
-
Let's just say it is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition.

Defining maturity: As i see it, its finding a balance within yourslef, maintaning controll and being one with your surrondings and self. all stemming from life lessons and experiences. Granted, older people have had more of an opritunity to experience things thus seeming to be wise, but its weather or not they DID experience all they could and most importantly LEARN from those experiences. I know 20 somthings that have experienced WAY MORE than 50 year olds, learned from it, and have a broader sense of self and wisdom. Ive seen other 20 somthings that could care less about the world and experiences and simply do the same thing over and over in life. these people rarely mature.

Haha good question, Alan :)) No, age doesn't determine maturity. I know some very young people who show much maturity (and I think that you are one of them). I also know people who are middle aged and still haven't matured mentally. Although age doesn't necessarily determine maturity, there is a difference in life experience- a young person, of course, has less life experience than a much older person and the older you are, the more experience you gain in life.
-
No. People thought I was mature when I was a teenager. I know people in their fifties that are completely immature.
-
No it does not.

many of those in the age range of 10 to 40 slow down or whiz up in their emotional maturity. i guess it is only the youngest and the oldest act their age.dont know what the hell gets hold of us in the middle

Do length of days make an apple ripe upon a tree? No, maturity is something that you work on and strive for. It comes through gaining knowledge, and learning to apply what you learn. It comes from experiences and how you handle them. Can't tell you how many people I know who should be mature because of their years AND all they've been through but they don't seem to learn. However they usally are still more mature than someone that doesn't have years on them.
-
Nope. There are so many factors in maturity, and numbers age has nothing to do with maturity, generally.
-
No, in my opinion age does not. Having good morals and character has a lot to do with being mature. Great question!
-
I don't feel that it does. Its all in the personality and experiences that people have and have been through. Also, the way a person reacts.
-
i wish! that would make it a lot easier to know who NOT to date and it would be an added incentive for aging.
-
No more than it does wisdom.
-
No, I think that experience and amounts of thought determines maturity That is why very young children simply won't be as mature as a 50 year old or something, but why some people in their teens take longer to mature (mentally, not physically) than others, etc It's all about how much you've witnessed, learnt, or otherwise experienced, and how much thought you've put to it all I 'reckon
-
By no means. Maturity is a certain mindset that has nothing to do with age.
-
absolutely not

I know some people that are approaching their 70s. these people have never reached their age of maturity and may never make it. thats ok. these are fun-loving people that take life, not so seriously and never will. these are the kind of people you want to surround yourself with. Its like the song says "Still Crazy After All These Years". This song was created for these people.

Not even remotely.
