I recently found that my friend smokes pot, how can I get him to stop while still keeping him as a friend?

You should not try to run your friend's life.He or she will decide for themselves,and if they are unwilling to quit you will have to decide if you want to remain friends with them

It's really not your place to judge his actions. If your friend isn't exhibiting any addict behaviors, then his pot smoking isn't a problem - and especially not YOUR problem. Confronting him is likely to spoil your friendship, and make him laugh at you for being so ignorant. Pot isn't a dangerous drug, as the government would probably like you to believe.

Let him know that you dont like to see him high on pot. Keep him as a friend though.

you have to let him decide for himself, you can experss your disaproval but express your friendship is unconditional. his way will be shown to him either by life, or his God.

it has to be your friends choice to stop. it is your choice to stay his friend. It sou nds easy, but tough love is hard to do.

There is nothing you can do to make him stop. He has to make that decision for himself on his own. You can however, choose for yourself whether you still want to be a part of his life or not.

I had a friend who knew i didn't like drugs or even being around them. At a party she invited me to, someone mentioned smoking pot. Her eyes lit up, and she ran and grabed her stash. At that moment she tells everyone that i have a problem with drugs, like it was a joke. I got up and left the room. If i hadn't been driking i would have left the party. A bit later she comes up to me to ask me what was wrong. I told her it kills me to see her get all excited about doing drugs. I love this girl. She proceeds to give me the, it's no big deal speech and that i should try it. I slept on her couch that night. I got up in the morning and left before anybody else was up. It felt like she chose the drugs over me that night. It broke my heart. My heart is still broke. It has been a long time since i've seen or spoken with her. I still love her, and i miss her. I've only told one person about this. There advice was "you don't need her if she is going to continue to use drugs". Maybe i don't need her, but god i want her.

I really doubt if you can ... People who smoke that dope just don't care or realize the harm that they are dong to themselves ... I've more or less alienaited myself from any friends who smoked the wacky weed ... as much as it hurt.

let them make there own choises if you see a chang in there personality that you do not like you may have to have a talk about it with him in such a way it will change some bad habits
