  • Just think what ellicits strong feelings in you. It could be anything, as long as you really care about it. So if you skateboard and think it's the best thing ever, pick that. That is probably the point of the assignment
  • Persuasive essays aren't that difficult to write; everywhere you go people are trying to persuade you to buy things, do things, take things.. whatever. You have to really believe what you're trying to persuade someone about in your essay because if you don't believe neither will they. Something going on in today's society or politics is always a good persuasive essay. Like if you really think that global warming should concern people, you might try to persuade people that they need to take better care of the enviornment.
  • You should write a persuasive essay on getting tattoos.
  • Chose a topic you really care about, something you know a lot of stuff about it, and something that is really important to you. Like if you hate smoking, write about how bad it is. Or if you smoke, write about how hard it is to stop, and mention facts like nicotine that makes it so hard. If you want to do it perfectly, look up some rhetorical strategies to be persuasive, like rhetorical questions, parallelism in structure, argumentation, cataloguing, techniques like straw-men etc.
  • Immigration, the presidents election, politicians in general, the closing of New Jersey State Parks for this summer and it's impact on the population. Think about something, then write what you think in a passionate manner.
  • Something you believe in, but not so lividly that you can't step back from it and explain your opinion clearly and respectfully.
  • That is something only you can answer. What topic is important to you? Abortion? Global Warming? A new energy strategy for the nation? Save the Whales/condors/fairy shrimps? [that's a real creature, btw] Religion or lack thereof? It really is your personal choice.
