  • I wouldn't take it period...but it's really up to you. If you don't like it, than keep your name. If you think you have the responsibility, than by all means, take it. I also know some people that keep both of their names. Eg. Mary A. Smith Johnson.
  • I have seen some very successful marriages where the name was awful, but irrelevant. If you can negotiate something to your liking fine. If not, and this is a make or break issue, then you'd better cut him loose. Where are you true sentiments in your love for him, or your vanity? No harshness intended. It just breaks out that way.
