Is it possible that there are some truths it is better not to know, and some facts and situations it is better to turn a blind eye to ? Any examples?

Yes, like the jerk who I was friends with 10 years ago, our kids were all friends, his wife and my wife were friends, and he tried to make a pass at my wife. I phoned him and told him never ever make contact w/my family again. I could have told his family and disgraced him but that would have hurt his kids who were all good kids. So, in that case the family never knew why my family just dropped out of their lives, but it was for the better.
