If they were registered Paint horses they couod race with tht breed. But even Quarter Horses dont allow horses with lots of white to be registered. They are eligible fro Paint Horse registery and they do race. But Thoroughbred cmes from a long line of solid horses with not much white pigment. They barely come out with stars and stockings let alone piebald or pinto markings. And if someone tried to pass one off as a thoroughbred, they aren't allowed to be registered even if they had the pedigree.

Piebalds are also considered unlucky by many people. You would not want an 'unlucky' racehorse.

Yes, the first coloured horse has just been registered at whetherby's (full thoroughbred), and is to make his racing debut soon, I believe.
