  • As a matter of fact, no. I didn't even realise that St Georges Day was today until I saw a beer advert featuring it. Even if I knew it was today beforehand, I still would not have celebrated it, for the simple reason that I do not know how. One thing is for sure, us Englishmen aren't nearly as patriotic as the Irish.
  • Thanks, and no I didn't celebrate St George's day. It really isn't a big thing here compared to St Patrick's in Ireland. I don't think I know anyone who has specifically celebrated it today and I think most people here haven't even realised it is St George's today.
  • No, my city did though. Apparently Prince Charles came to open a floor that has been restored in St. Georges Hall. Now for the shameful bit, I don't even know why St. George is a saint or who he really was. This is St Georges Hall.
  • Thankyou for England but they do not really celebrate National days like other Countries, St George's day is not a great celebration here
  • nope, i only just realised it was! we dont really seem to be very patriotic, its sad.
  • Working.. Fun ay?
  • I happened to be in the pub anyway when I realised it was St George's day, so I then used it as an excuse to carry on and get p*ssed on a monday evening. So in a way, yes.
  • Along with 95% of Englishmen I will let it pass by unnoticed. We are not know for nationalistic fervour! In actual fact I would guess that the majority of Englishmen do not even know what date the Patron Saint is celebrated.
