No. Doing things to protect people from themselves is not only infringement of rights in my opinion but it goes against evolution if you believe in that sort of thing. but there are people who say at the point humans are at now and because of medicines and things like that that we control in our environment that we wont evolve much further if any at all. i think they are wrong.

I don't think it's ok, but Lincoln did it to keep the country together, and I have always thought he was a great president. So, I guess it's one of those questions that history has to answer

Yes, as sometimes the Government may have to curtail the will of the people in an emergency, say if they knew a meteorite was going to hit a city, then they should be able to clear the area.
