  • No, since as far as I know, landmasses don't follow religion :) However, you obviously meant the population, and I have to say that, as with all populations, there is considerable diversity within it. This variation is what makes us so human. As such, there are people who are very strict in their religious beliefs, and some who are not. Geographically there seems to be areas where this strictness is observed more than others. I refer to those States where evolution is not taught in schools (as far as I know this isn't nation-wide, correct me if I'm wrong). If you've ever seen Top Gear (a truly fantastic and hilarious British show about cars), you might have seen the recent episode when Jeremy, James and Richard went on a road trip across southern USA. One section involved them writing on each others' cars statements designed to provoke a reaction from passersby. The section I'm on about is about 3 1/2 mins into the first clip and carries on into the next. It was obviously going to cause them to get some funny looks but I don't think anyone could have predicted the reactions from some people, caused by their religious upbringing and intolerance to others. By the way, if you have not seen this, you can find the other sections of this hour long episode on youtube, it is well worth watching, I was in hysterics at some points. But classing the whole population as intolerant because of a small proportion of people who simply don't have respect for others is unfair to the rest of them. Other countries such as Italy and Spain have even stricter religious societies compared to the US, yet I wouldn't class those countries as being obsessed, it comes down usually to the individuals/small populations. After all, religion itself isn't a bad thing as long as you maintain the respect for others' beliefs and rights and don't force your own onto others.
  • No America is obsessed with money, and religion is just one means to making a lot of money.
  • It's obsessed WITH religion. And Athiesm. There's a difference. It's also obsessed with itself, if you'll pardon my Ukrainian.
  • No. In America it's always about money.
  • No, most Americans are religious but that is just how they are. I don't think obsession is the right word for it. Belief in God isn't like being a football fan where you go hog wild for your team and decorate your house in your teams colors. Of course there are those who are like that when it comes to religious belief. The vast majority of religious in the US simply have beliefs that are a part their day to day lives. In fact most people in the world are that way. Almost all people have a belief in God or, at the very least, a higher power or powers.
  • No people are obsessed with religion, America is obsessed with power and control, With being greedy and in love with money. This really is troubling to me as I am an American. It is time that America wakes up to what is really important, We should be a leader country, Not a dictator counrty. we should not be trying to bully and boss other countries around, we should be assisting them and trying to help them to a better quality of life. Meaning help other countries to better themselves with their lifestyle and not forcing our ways and lifestye on them.
  • Yes, if not by religion itself by the lack-there-of.
