    I have 1,536 songs on my Sony MP3 player, and they cover nearly every single genre you can think of, so listing them all would take some time. However the most common type are what I would class as classic rock (Bad Company, Aerosmith, Guns n' Roses etc). BTW, there's no need to distinguish between iPods and MP3 players in your question, an iPod is an MP3 player. Your question makes it look like they are two different things.
