  • The best thing to do is suggest to the judge that at the time you were pulled over you were in the process of getting over to the right lane so that you could let the other cars pass because you were being tailgated. For the short time you were speeding you were attempting to avoid an accident caused by blocking the flow of traffic and you were simply trying to get out of the way of the oncomming traffic behind you.
  • The officer had a reason for choosing you. maybe you were passing other cars, weaving in and out of traffic, something that attracted his attention. he is one officer and can stop only one car at a time. or, maybe it was just your bad luck day!!
  • One police car can only pull over one speeder at one time. You were the lucky one that day. Pay it. If you go to court, you will lose and will have to pay court costs in addition to the ticket. Knowingly being one in a "pack" of speeders is not an acceptable excuse in court. I think everyone should take an afternoon off and spend it in traffic court. The exposure will give you a general idea of how the system works. You will also be vastly amused by watching idiot drivers with bad excuses, who know nothing about law, irritate the judges. Even judges run out of patience.
