  • Prague was originally settled by Czech immigrants, who gave their new town the name "Prague." On the first Saturday of May each year there is a 'Kolache Festival' (named for a Bohemian pastry filled with fruit preserves). It celebrates the Czech culture brought from the 'old country.' One can learn more at the Prague Historical Museum on the town's main street, Jim Thorpe Boulevard, which is named for the town's most famous son, the Olympic athlete Jim Thorpe. Prague was also the site of Meher Baba's automobile accident on May 24, 1952. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prague%2C_Oklahoma
