That can be many things, I would recommend you check with a mechanic and have them do an overall diagnostic. Dealers would charge a lot so just grab a yellow book and see what you can find. The one with biggest or most colorful advertising is definitely not the one. Find one that has many cars in it. Good luck!

RTFC - Read the f***ing codes! Whenever the engine light comes on, there is usually a code stored. I forget how the older (OBD-I) Saturns are, but the OBD-II ones can be quite informative if you just use a simple code-scanner.
