  • Yeah, I find myself watching re-runs before the new stuff most of the time.
  • I think yes, there were many really GOOD TV sitcoms in the 60-early 80's than we have had in the 90's with the exception of Seinfeld and 1-2 others.
  • whether its new or not has nothing to do with it for me. i hated married with children and kind of enjoy other old ones. i hate some new ones and like others. not a big fan of sitcoms though. fresh prince was always the best
  • I think there are fanstatic, split-your-sides-laughing ones, good ones, OK for a rainy day ones and downright terrible ones made both recently and longer ago. For example, Fawlty Towers still has no superior to this day, but shows such as 'Allo 'Allo and the Vicar of Dibley, made more recently are close second places. And shows such as Scrubs and the League of Gentlemen are still unmissable. What I would say is that as you look at the older ones, the Brit ones were far better. As you get more modern the Americans did a great job of catching up, though this is due to the sheer volume of sitcoms produced compared to the UK as much as the quality of writing (monkeys writing Hamlet theory).
  • Yes, among them ~ Sanford & Son, All in the Family, Maude and Good Times.
