  • Poultry (know because it doesn't make my tum mad when I eat them and I am lactose intolerant)
  • Are eggs considered a dairy product? Not by chickens. The word dairy comes from an Old English word for a "female bread baker." The root of the word is the modern-day word for "dough." And it is conceivable to us that eggs have as much relevance to the origin of the word dairy as butter does. But nowadays, the word dairy only has to do with milk and cream and related products: sour cream, butter, cheese, yogurt, etc. You may often find eggs and dairy categorized together but they remain as distinct as the species from which they come.
  • Technically poultry. They are most often included with dairy because they are so perishable and must be refridgerated to the same low temps as milk, etc.
  • I prefer dairy but only goats milk, for it is not pumped full of hormones and insulin.
  • I would categorise them as Poultry, although in some places they still come under the heading dairy products. Something that i have never been able to understand.
  • it's a poultry product you will usually find in the dairy case.
  • Good question. My younger brother is allergic to poultry. Chicken, turkey, pheasant, etc. But he can eat eggs just fine. But doesn't dairy come from the milk of an animal? So, they can't be dairy... Hmmm.
