There will be a lot of discussion, but I doubt that in the end anything will change. The NRA will say that if every person in the class had pistols in their pockets they would have shot him down. The politicians will do what they think will garner them the most votes. And finally, people who think that the laws should be tightened will raise a hue and cry that will fall on deaf ears. sorry.

They will come under scrutiny as usual but in the end it will be the gun lobby and the freedom to bear arms that win the day. At least it should be made impossible for Non Nationals to walk into gun stores and buy a Glock 9mm. What does a foreign student living in a dormitory need a gun for, pigeon shooting? Surely the right to bear arms does not include non citizens

It might. But even if they do I don't see it doing much good. Unless we get the clue and ban semi-automatics and assult weapons plus the armour piercing bullets. And even then if someone wants to shoot up a school any gun will do really. The Columbine Killers used pump action shootguns. and look at the damage they created.

No. they are very strict today.

I'm not sure if it is the gun laws thats the problem, I seriously doubt these kids are getting them legally.

i doubt it i mean what changed after the sniper? Nothing

Considering the strength of the NRA over there, and the general gun culture, I'd say no. The gun laws probably won't change significantly. Given the US has averaged 2 of these types of shootings per year for the past 10 years with no significant change, why would this one be so different?
