  • I don't really understand the question. I thought rank was determined by points accumulated. My rank is 15 and I am 15th in points. I know that the leaderboard works differently. It changes weekly based on your participation from the previous week. An enthusiastic newcomer could be in the top 5.
  • Great Questions and Helpful Answers -- It will cause people to follow to enjoy reading your answer's and will give you more point's which will rate you up - and the time and energy you put into it
  • G'day sleidman, Thank you for your question. Your rank corresponds with your level. The highest ranked people are at the highest levels. The weekly leaderboard shows the points earned during the week so a relative newby can answer lots of questions well and ask good questions and achieve a high position. If they do that consistently, they will not have a low level for long. My principle is if you give good answers and ask good questions, the ranks and levels will look after themselves. Regards
  • The high rank - say, 1,000, actually indicates a low level - a 3 or 4. Conversely, a really low rank, where all the Maestros are, like #1 or #2, indicates a high level. Example from the all-time leaderboard: BoredAsMustard (BAM) is ranked # 1. (The number "1" is a "low" number, numerically speaking. Contextually, it looks high to us on AB.) She's at level # 63, which is a high level on AB. The person who's ranked # 1,000 is at the low level of 11. When rank is high, that person's level is low and vice-versa. retroglide: This confuses everyone. Just go with me for a second. You have to first understand that the term "low" in real life, is not the same thing as "low" on AB. On AB, we have ranks, and we have levels, right? Your level number is found on your badge. The higher your rank, the lower your level.
  • The default appearance of the leaderboard shows scores for just the previous week, so a person with a low level who was very active with good questions and answers that week could be at the top. There is a tab near the top of the leaderboard labelled 'All Time' and if you click on that you switch to a view that puts everybody into descending order of total points received.
