  • Yes, i've tried Yahoo! Answers Comparing Answerbag to Yahoo! Answers.. i prefer Answerbag, obviously Why? Simply because, at Answerbag, i can keep on asking questions without having to accumulate points in order for me to ask more questions And answers at Yahoo! Answers are more of the 'copy-and-paste' type (refer to the given link below) where in 'Other Answers', posted by the user 'kzhel' simply copied and paste the contents from a paper written by an ex-lecturer and ex-student from my university. Even i myself have a proper softcopy of that article i see Yahoo! Answers as a backup to Answerbag though, in cases where answers at Answerbag isn't satisfying or insufficient (also referring to the link below) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aou6GbAdco.SKdksKBuRwywjzKIX?qid=20061123235710AAgzch8 where the 'best answer' by 'ashtray' gives a link to a copy of the type certificate data sheet (link at the end of the ashtray's answer)
  • Yes - I like it ok - But for me I'm here at AB to stay
  • I tried it but I obviously prefer answerbag. Amswerbag's more fun
  • its boring
  • I've been on Answers for months. I had no idea this site existed, but I sure ain't going back! It was fun when I first started, but over the last 3 month or so, there have been a lot of issues which Yahoo refuses to acknowledge. I'm done there...
  • I was there last year for awhile, it's ok.
  • I think that yahoo answers is where the trolls go once they get thrown outta here, that is what I think of yahoo answers.
  • Eh, nothing compares to AB. :)
  • I don't really like it. I like Answerbag's format more, and we are more of a community here. AB is more fun.
  • I tried it for about the five minutes it took me to find AB and make my decision. In my opinion there is no comparision. It could be said I didn't give it a long enough try, but I found it impersonal and rather cold. I like it much better here.
  • Boring. Irritating. It takes a lot of work to sign up if ur under 13. The most stupid thing is I was twelve when I joined up for Yahoo Mail. They said at Answers when I tried to sign up last month that I can use that id to use Answers. But the thing is, when I used that id, there were problems about me being under 13. I had to face a load of crap to try to get an account. And I still dont have one. Come to think of it, thats REAL good. Anyway, I like Answerbag lots more. Its more comfortable here.
  • I can tell you how they treated me..I was one of their top scorers....you have to read this from the bottom up though.... Yahoo!, give the man some help for once! • I used Y!A for about 10 months. Currently the site is run a muck with trolls. I stopped participating when I realized Y!A does not care, so why should I. Y!A is trying to get the most bang for the buck. They want to increase clicks and users but are unwilling to spend the needed money on resources to manage a site that has been overrun with trolls.
  • No, I haven't. After reading all your responses, I am glad that I haven't.
  • The sex was great.
  • I hate Yahoo! Answers. I got suspended for chatting when my questions weren't even chatting questions. Yahoo! Answers sucks! I've been suspended for two years so far.
  • I tried it, and it's pretty stupid.
  • Yahoo Answers is a joke. It's juvenile, and being overrun by trolls. There are no real people monitoring that site. Decent people are suspended all of the time because of constant false abuse reports...and Yahoo does nothing. I still have an account, but I'm rarely on there. I pop on occasionally and see it's still going downhill. AB is so much better.
  • I used to use YA. But gave up. Most of the users are wallies. I decided to let the users answer a question of mine. They voted someone who gave a 2 word answer and the only reason why I think they voted for it was because they were a top contributer. In short his answer was totally crap. Just like YA. Am glad I founf AB. Ironically it was through YA I found out about AB LMAO
  • it was boring. answerbag is more fun.
  • Yeah, it was a little too strict for me.
  • I've tried it and loved it, till I got those Error 999 messages that prevented me from posting answers. Honestly, Yahoo Answers is a good website. However, some very bad users are ruining it.
  • Yahoo answers is full of stupid little morons and idiots. I only go there to agitate them.
  • yeah, i tried it. But i didn't like it.
  • My account was closed by the trolls at Yahoo and I have no idea why. To this day, they have refused to tell me why. I'm glad I found AB instead. YA can go take a flying leap off a very short ledge as far as I'm concerned.
  • yeah it was ok til my account got closed and they offered no reason and said it would not be re-activated!
  • Well i used it sometimes to get answers. But it's nothing like AB :)
  • Its so impersonal. You just feel lik "whats the point?" Altho I'm new to AB I feel like I already have good friends!
  • Meh, just to look up answers to questions sometimes. I dunno, it seems kind of like a lame community.
  • I was on Y! A for quite awhile. I THINK I achieved Stage/Level 5 or 6 out of the 7. It was challenging. As far as I was concerned, the space to answer was restricted. I TRULY believe The "system" (or lack of same) to monitor answers and Qs was monitored by a bank of computers. Folks would make suggestions. The suggestions would never be reviewed - let alone adapted. The trolls were allowed to run rampant. THEY had free-reign of the site. After I was "bounced" in April, in July, I THINK I received an e-mail from "someone" [I think it was simply a computer-generated e-mail] asking me to come back. Due to the CHRONIC troll situation, I told that "person" to go play with their children [the trolls]. It was about two weeks ago when I received notice another one of my answers was chosen as "The Best Answer". In ALL honesty, as far as I'm concerned, AnswerBag ("AB") is THE BEST Q & A Forum on the Internet! Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! • I've used Yahoo Answers for a while now, and I just found Answerbag a couple hours ago. I sometimes ask practical questions, and answer math and science questions, but more often I go to the Religion and Spirituality forum on Yahoo Answers and just poke the people there with a stick to see what happens. Y!A has some rather obnoxious problems. If you ask a question in a busy forum, it gets many answers, but then after a few minutes it sinks below the first page. There's no way I know of to bump your question back to the top of the page, though you can extend your question's expiration. Y!A's policies encourage answers that aren't well thought out, and they also encourage different people to ask the same questions over and over again. Many answers seem poorly thought out. In fact, I just searched Y!A for questions about Answerbag. People ask a question, and then others answer them along the lines of "I've never heard of Answerbag!" If that's the case, why answer at all? The people here seem more mature, more helpful, and better at typing and grammar, though this is only a first impression of Answerbag.
  • oh you dont want the R-rated version of my story..heres the G-rated part: its over run by trolls..mean spirited kids and people with big chip on their shoulders. me and many other before me were victims of being harassed, spammed and ridiculed..not all the time. take for example the polls and surveys section..trashy. thats where i confronted several trolls who eventually hacked my acct between 2006-2007. in the religion section, there are kids who are mocking questions and certain high points members. in the suggestion forum..complaints after complaints clog the system. they'll probaley keep at it even by 2010!..that is my opinion of yahooy answers
  • HATE it there. they are a bunch of idiotic young punks fooling around. Yahoo answers sucks.
  • never tried it, dont think i will. hmm this makes me think, i dont even remember how i got onto AB
  • Yes I do, and I find the questions more worthwhile - none of these stupid "formula" questions just to raise the "curiosity" level.
  • I've used Yahoo Answers for over 10 years. Am sad that it is closing.
    • Linda Joy
I felt that way when MSN's Q&A closed over a decade ago. We still have a group on FB, but its not the same, either.
  • Yes, after MSN's Q&A closed. I asked one of my friends for a good Q&A site she said that one and here and one other. I didn't like that Yahoo Answers charged points for asking or answering questions so I came here and made friends right away, but they slowly left except a few.
