Are supercharged engines generally more prone to break down and have problems than non supercharged engines?

Depends on how you build it.If the engine is built by a professional and he built it right.It would be about the same. Just way more horsepower.

It also bepends upon how you drive it. If you abuse any engine it will tear down that much faster. Additionally, The supercharger increases the pressure in the combustion chamber and increases the force applied to the pistons. If your engine was not originally designed to support forced induction (a turbo or supercharger/blower) you might want to look into getting up-rated head gaskets, pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, bearing, crankshaft, and a transmission.

its the same if the supercharged engine has titanium pistons, because u plan on racing right, well go for the pistons and a good cam

I plopped a titanium supercharger on my intrepid and it hasn't broken down yet and I abuse it like I hate it. It just throws me in the back seat
