Given the environmental menace that plastic carrier bags are, should they just be banned outright ? Agree or disagree.

If not banned, then certainly taxed heavily so as to discourage their use. Mesh bags should be provided to consumers for free by companies as a promotional item and as a form of advertising. I thought that this was a good question.
