To name a few: Kathmandu - Nepal Kabul - Afghanistan Tripoli - Libya Pyongyang - North Korea About 74 countries have no McDonalds at all. Some countries don't even have a government let alone American style fast food. Those “without” McDonalds are likely better nourished because their bodies are not polluted with bad fats. Edit: Shultz - Sorry I was wrong about New Delhi. They do have McDonalds - the Maharaja Mac! "Maharaja Mac" is made of: "two all lamb patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun." http://www.media.mcdonalds.com/secured/products/international/maharajamac.html

As an aside: What US capital city does not have any fast food restaurants? Answer: Burlington VT. If you have visited this beautiful city you would see why. It just wouldn't look right. Some towns are very restrictive. There is a Burger King near me that looks like a typical white colonial store. The only clue is the name Burger King on the mail box.

It is difficult to nail down an answer to this question because the McDonalds Corporation grants themselves geographic liberties when making claims about where they have a presence. In fact, McDonalds is in far fewer nations than they claim for the simple reason that they list numerous territories and dependencies as yet another international presence. For example, they claim to have stores in the United States, and Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, and Guam, and the Virgin Islands, and Saipan. They count that as six countries… a 5th Grade student would probably know those are all parts of the United States. Also note that the information on the Wikipedia page is so full of inaccuracies that it is often useless. Inconsistencies, conflicting information, and domineering users who are insistent that The Isle of Man, Guam, and Gibraltar must be counted as sovereign nations on the McDonalds page render that page of questionable value. As for nations not having McDonalds being better nourished – a review of this list will illustrate that some of these nations are impoverished and maintain a GNP / GDP level at the bottom of the world’s scale, so it is unreasonable to make comments about being better nourished due to the lack of McDonalds. The following list is of sovereign nations that do not have a McDonald’s presence as of this writing. This list probably contains mistakes, and new outlets are springing up all over the map so at the time you view this entry the information will inevitably be outdated. As for the capital cities – you’ll need to do your own homework. 1. Afghanistan 2. Albania 3. Algeria 4. Andorra 5. Angola 6. Antigua & Barbuda 7. Armenia 8. Belize 9. Benin 10. Bhutan 11. Hanoi. Yangon (Rangoon). Phnom Penh. Vientiane. Rumor was McDonald's was supposed to be in Vietnam last month. I'm getting so sick and tired of Korean burgers (from the Japanese-Korean chain Lotteria) and Filipino burgers (from Jollibee). We do have KFC, Pizza Hut, and Pizza Inn.

Does anyone know why there is no McDonalds or Burger King or any American Franchise Company in Bosnia-Herzegovina? I am really wondering, the security situation is normal like everywhere else Europe, the economy standard is nearly like in Croatia, Slovenia... All these countries have a lot McDs. I read even in Kosovo McD is opening. But even not in the capital Sarajevo, a city with a lot of international workers, companies and tourists. Or not in Tuzla, there is a US-Air Base. So I guess for Bosnia - Hercegovina it has some reasons in policy...? But whta can they be??
