because the world just doesn't need certain people.
-
i only support it when a human being has commited a truley heinous crime.
-
You are assuming I do...and I do not support it except for a very few crimes.
-
It is cruel to "LOCK UP" people. If an animal has a problem/behavior/illness; those with a conscience don't lock them up for years. Why do you put an animal to sleep? Answer; You do not want it to suffer.
-
i don't support the death penalty in any way or for any reason.
-
This is not a simple answer. In tha case of someone who has committed a truely heinous crime -- such as this baby-killer who raped 8 year old Jessica Lundsford for two weeks then buried her alive, frankly I believe that lethal injection, life in prison, or Old Sparky are all too good for him. I knew that little girl, and she was a sweetheart. I hope someone gives him the ol' Ted Bundy broomstick up the cornhole. And that's putting it lightly.
-
I do not support the death penalty, I see it as hypocritical.
-
Yes. But we make it to easy on the person who is being executed. It should be as painful as the death(s) he/she caused. And it should be carried out quickly.
-
Because it is the ultimate injustice that you can take my life and still keep yours. Because fewer innocent people die where there is a death penalty. And if you don't believe that, try this experiment in your state: Have murder punished with the death penalty on even days and with prison on the odd days, and see when most murders get committed. Because murderers in prison manage to commit other murders, of other prisoners, of guards, and of witnesses on the outside.
-
First you should ask me if I support the death penalty. :-)
-
I support the death penalty because some people are so vile and evil that the world does not benefit from having them around. I only wish they would kill them sooner so that my tax dollars were not wasted keeping violent murderers alive. I will answer your comment before you even post it... No its not cruel, they get more mercy and die much more peaceful than their victims did.
-
I do not support the death penalty. I did extensve coursework on it, and I still do not. It seems a rather barbaric and uneducated response to punishment.
-
Yes I 100% support given they did the right crime such as murder, and rape. I do not believe that those people deserve to live any more. Also if we let them live, then guess who has to pay for those pieces of trash to live, US the taxpayers. Also even though it is very rare some have escaped. And if they escape then there probably so pist-off at everybody there just going to commit crimes again.
-
im supposed to according to my relegious beliefs... but i dont. I believe its being abused.
-
I don't know that I support it...but I resent paying to keep some criminals alive.
-
I don't actually - across the board. In fact one of my best friends committed murder (and paid the price of many years in prison) when young, a crime of passion, born from an abusive childhood and later, more abuse. No excuse. However, this person is a truly compassionate, kind person who now has four children, spent years wracked with guilt and finally began to understand that the only way to justify the crime was to live a better life and help others. But for some crimes, committed by terrorists or psychopaths (is there a difference?)then I don't see why we should keep them alive. Too dangerous for release, too inhuman to enjoy their lives and too cruel to care about others. What's the point?
-
Because criminals can't do something completely ruthless and only fear 3 meals, family visitation, and perhaps parole; that is saying that the person's life that they hurt is not worth as much as the criminal.
-
When properly applied, I support the death penalty because it is swift and final, befitting the crime of murder. Unfortunately, the US does not properly apply it.
-
Because the death penalty on U.S. average only imprisons someone for 5 years. Even if they get Life without parole, they always end up getting paroled. One guy murdered a little girl and he was given life without parole, now he's up for parole every 2 years...And wonder what he does every 2 years... Plus there is the deterrence theory that I believe in, though only if the death penalty is large scale or lack of death penalty. One man, Luis Vela, shot Rosa Valez when he broke into her home. His justification? "He knew he wouldn't get the chair"

i support it.. its not fair for someone to kill innocent people and get away with it.. and its not hypocritical because were not saying to go out and kill innocent people we are just excicuting murderers that arent innocent FOR killing innocent people.
